Summer Road Trip Ideas

6/18/2015

I don't know about anyone else, but I have a wonderful feeling about this summer!
Whether you're a full-time worker, high school student, or enjoying the life of retirement, we all need to take some time for ourselves and get a well-deserved break from incredibly lethal stress (otherwise referred to as "LIFE").

                                            ROAD TRIP!

I could give you a destination for every state, but we don't want to be reading for sixty hours. Do we? No.

For those on the west coast, or those interested in going to the west coast, there's a beautiful road known as the 101. Take it. Take it now.
I would suggest starting in San Francisco and ending in Seattle. You'll have a beautiful view and AMAZING cities to stop in! Need I say that Portland, OR will be a pit stop? Also, why not extend the trip a little and perhaps take a ferry to Vancouver after you visit Mount Rainier?

For a southern road trip:

First stop, Galveston, TX. You can go on kayak tours, visit beautiful art galleries, take a trip to Pleasure Pier, and then end the perfect day with some fine dining.

Next, New Orleans, LA
Jackson Square is a must visit! New Orleans is filled with this beautiful architecture!
You'll have to visit the City Park, and then definitely take a break with Po-Boys where you will eat the best sandwiches ever gifted to humans.

Now, the east coast is absolutely beautiful and I truly believe that you can get the best seafood EVER there.

Start your trip in Charleston, South Carolina. Once again, here's another city with beautiful, historic buildings!

Next, drive up to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The beaches are beautiful, family-friendly, and when the tide is low, you can see sunken ships rise from the Atlantic!

Alexandria, Virginia has (in my very humble opinion) the best seafood I have ever tasted and a very lovely feel to the city.

Lastly, why not finish the trip ( or start the trip, depending on where you live!) in New York city with a broadway show?
My dear Northerners, we're going to start in my home state of Michigan.

Start at the top of the mitten with Mackinac Island. Want to know a cool thing about the Island? No cars! At first, that may sound a little alarming, but a nice walk on the beautiful streets or going on a relaxing bike ride will make you forget all about that!

Next, go to Ohio for one of the best amusement parks in all of America, Cedar Point!

I'm sure you've been waiting for this one throughout the entire blog . . . *drum roll*
Chicago! There's Lake Michigan, great pizza, a beautiful city. What's not to like about it?

Lastly, there's Minneapolis, MN.
When you're there, you must stop at Escape MSP for fun games, go to the Guthrie Theatre, and then end your trip with Lake Harriet!

Keep these destinations in mind when you're planning your next family/friend vacation this summer!
Have an awesome start to your summer everyone!

Things I Do That I Probably Shouldn't

1/3/2015

I said I was going to do a sad post, I know! I just couldn't bring myself to do it and I am so sorry for destroying all of your hopes and dreams . . . I am a horrid person. *crawls into a corner and cries*

Okay! I'm all better!

You know when you're about to do or say something and you think for a second either before or after you do it that perhaps this isn't the best idea? Well, that's my life. So here a something things that I do that I probably shouldn't.

#1 Eject my USB without securing it.

I think I have "safely eject USB" once or twice in my entire life. I'm probably going to regret it one day, like really regret it, because all of my files are going to be gone or something tragic like that, but until that happens, I will continue to pull it out as soon as I'm done. Can you say #yoloswag ?

#2  Drive aggressively

I admit, I'm not the best driver. However, I do understand "right of way". Did you know that if you are pulling out from a parking lot, you actually have to yield to people on the main street? WHAAAAT?!? Yes, it's true. It drives me insane that so many people don't give a shit about other drivers and feel like they are the only people on the road and the world should stop and go at their convenience when they're driving. Oh. My. God. Stahp. Because of these terrible drivers, I assert myself, praying that they get the hint that they're driving like a bloody idiot.
Maybe that isn't safe. Perhaps I should refrain from this.
But probably not.

#3  Say weird things

 Example numero uno: "Sweet beans".
Another thing I say frequently: "Oh sweet baby Jesus in a manager".
Lawl and lawd are another example. I don't mean that I type this, no, I actually pronounce them like this sometimes, and I'm not too sorry about them actually . . .

#4 Tell terrible jokes

I have a wide variety of jokes, like too wide, like I'm sure that the government is watching me when I look up new jokes.
I tell dead baby jokes, Holocaust jokes, racist jokes, women jokes, pedophile jokes, etc. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! I don't condone them . . . but I love them dearly.
Want to hear some??? Okay!!! Yes!
No, I can't do it. You'll just have to look them up on your own. Reddit has a pretty good selection :)

#5 Climb on people

I have this new thing that I like to do where I act like a sloth and the person I'm near is a tree. I climb on them in the most uncomfortable and awkward way, and then I proceed by whispering in their ear "Majestic as fuck". It's quite beautiful.
Whenever I see two people wrestling or fighting, or just on top of each other, I have this thing where I scream "Here comes Evy!" and then I run and fling myself on top of them. If you were in theatre with me, you know to run if you hear this.

That's about it for now.

It's kind of strange doing such a short one, huh? Oh well, that's what you got!

I would like to, for just a moment, share my optimism with you and hope that you catch like germs from a very contagious sickness . . . like a very positive and not at all deadly plague :)  The world is full of so many opportunities and we are all born with a unique talent that we should take advantage of! We can do literally anything! I mean, hell, we, as humanity, have so much potential as it is! Go out and do your thing!!

I'd just like to thank you guys again for reading my blogs:) If there's anything you'd like me to write about, feel free to comment or email me or whatever!

You're a fascinating creature!

The stars shine for you!

Life is limitless!

Playlist to an Awesome Day!

12/26/2014

I was struggling and struggling and struggling some more because I know that my blog is overdue for something that pulls at the heartstrings, but I am in a good mood and don't want that to change by writing something that may or may not make me cry. Therefore, today we shall smile!
Yas!

Okay, so I'm a big believer in the power of music. I find it beautiful how certain lyrics bring up memories you haven't thought about in years, how a note may make you feel like the sun is shining, and how an arrangement of chords can put goosebumps on your skin.

Now, I know what you're thinking. Calm it down there, kiddo. You just said this wasn't going to be a serious post, but it's getting kinda heavy in here . . .

I am not a liar! So here is my playlist to having the greatest damn day of your life!

Here we go!
(Also, the below are in no particular order, I just like counting things!)

#1 Smallpools - Over & Over

This song is so upbeat and so carefree! I love it and it always puts me in a good mood! And 1:57 just sounds pretty cool:)
#2 WALK THE MOON - Sidekick

WALK THE MOON is my life right now, at least for this week before a new artist wins over my heart. Anyway! This song is so fun and had me dancing like an idiot for like two hours at work -- not even mad. I was going to dedicate this to one of my best friends, actually, and then he talked about making out and realized he was talking about a love interest . . . it would have been awkward. Anyway, have a listen!
#3 Billy Idol - Dancing with Myself

It's Billy Idol, obviously. This song, though terribly long, just gets you dancing whether you're with friends or BY YOURSELF, like the song states constantly. This song rocks, enough said.
#4 Cash Cash ft. Bebe Rexha - Take Me Home

Just yes. Everyone needs a little dance music to get them going, and this is definitely one of those yeah-I'm-dancing-like-an-idiot-in-my-car-what-you-gonna-do-about-it kind of songs.
#5 Glee Cast - Valeria

Yes, this song was taken from Amy Winehouse (yeah? I'm pretty 99% it is, we'll just say it is). Anyway! I love this woman's voice, so I prefer the glee version for once in my life. I always find myself either doing the Carlton or grabbing someone and trying to swing dance whenever I listen to this song. Love it!
#6 The Maine - Like We Did (Windows Down)

As the title suggests, this song is PERFECT for just driving around with your friends with the windows down and having the time of your life. The Maine is awesome! I mean, come on, look at that sexy album cover!
#7 Owl City

Besides two or three songs, literally every Owl City song puts me in a great mood. His lyrics are so random and silly, his music is upbeat, and it's just really cool music. However, I'll pick one song in particular . . . . Deer In The Headlights.
This song is kind of funny, actually, if you really listen to it!
